Officers tried to arrest the man, but he kept swinging the light saber at them, Simpson said. One tried to use his Taser on the suspect but the device didn’t work. Another officer used his Taser and made contact, but the man knocked one of the wires away with the light saber. The officers finally arrested the man after grabbing him and pinning him to the ground.

Let this be a lesson to you would-be Jedi Knights. Sometimes it’s just better to practice LARPing in Mom’s basement…

Photographer Thomas Jackson has been working on a new series of images based on the idea of swarms, shooting large hovering masses of objects in locations around New York. He says the idea is still a work in progress and that some of these photos should just be considered “sketches.” See what you think by checking out his site

Banksy Commits “Cardinal Sin” with Latest Work

England-based graffiti artist, Banksy, just placed a new sculpture, Cardinal Sin, at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, England. The piece was made in response to the child abuse scandals that have plagued the Catholic Church in recent years and features a face taken off and replaced by blank bathroom tiles. The sculpture sits next to religious works dated from the 17th Century.
Banksy noted in a statement:

I love everything about the Walker Gallery—the Old Masters, the contemporary art, the rude girl in the cafe. And when I found out Mr. Walker built it with beer money, it became my favourite gallery. The statue? I guess you could call it a Christmas present. At this time of year it’s easy to forget the true meaning of Christianity—the lies, the corruption, the abuse.

First Trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to be attached to The Adventures of Tintin

The journey back to Middle Earth is about to begin. Coming Soon has confirmed with Warner Bros. that the teaser trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be attached to screenings of The Adventures of Tintin, which premieres in US theaters on December 21st. I’m excited to see what Peter Jackons has in store for the return trip. Believe it or not, it’s already been 8 years since The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King hit theaters and 10 since The Fellowship of the Ring. Crazy how time flies…

Papercraft: Darksiders War

War is one of the legendary Four Horsemen and the protagonist of 2010’s Darksiders video game by Vigil Games. He’s been turned into an impressive papercraft created by Marquitech. I recommend only advanced papercrafters take on this challenge. He’s a pretty big model, measuring in at approximately 80 cm tall and will take 97 pages to complete. Good luck!

Was Steve Jobs the real mastermind behind the Think Different campaign?

In Walter Isaacson’s recent biography Steve Jobs, Jobs is portrayed as the primary inspiration and promoter of the legendary Think Different campaign. However, according to Rob Siltanen, CEO of the Siltanen & Partners agency, Jobs initially thought the script was “shit.” While Jobs was highly involved with the advertising, the concept of putting together the “Think Different” line with black and white images of time-honored visionaries was invented by Craig Tanimoto, a TBWA/Chiat/Day art director at the time. Check out Forbes for the complete details, as well as evidence from Siltanen.
